Coal Creek & Sausage Sizzle Venue: Pearcedale Shops Category: MW Organized Ride Please be fed, watered, fuelled and ready to go by 9:30. If you like scenic rolling hills, bendy roads and lots of cows, this is the ride for you. We’ll head out via Lang Lang and Ripplebrook on some nice roads (some rarely ridden I think) and make our way back to Korumburra and Coal Creek. There won’t be a morning tea stop as we’ll arrive at our destination about 11am or so where we’ll put on an early BBQ lunch (snags, burgers, onions in bread) at a very reasonable price. Bring your gold coins. Drinks and assorted snacks are available from the nearby Coal Creek shop. For those not keen on a BBQ the usual food outlets including the pub and the bakery are available in Korumburra. After lunch we’ll do a casual wander through the Coal Creek settlement where I’m assured there will be a few displays operating on the day. After that we’ll head south from Korumburra for a scoot along some more nice roads to Loch, Poowong and back to Tooradin for an ice-cream if you’re up for it. The total ride distance is about 210km. Pray for good weather and it should be an enjoyable day. Those with thirsty bikes and/or itty bitty tanks can fuel in Korumburra and/or Loch. Australia Day Ride and BBQ at Fingal Picnic Area Venue: Pearsedale Shops Category: MW Organized Ride This is the Wanderers annual Australia Day ride and BBQ lunch. Our Ambassador for the days proceedings will be Paul Hoffrichter. Leaving Pearsedale at 10.00 we will ride over Arthurs Seat, Main Ridge, Flinders to Fingal Picnic Area at Cape Schanck. The BBQ lunch is free for those members who have paid the voluntary social contribution, or $10.00 each for those who have not.
